In the last 2 or 3 months of 2020 I challenged myself to design a hat for each month of 2021. It was the hardest designing challenge I have ever given myself. Creating 12 unique hats in such a short period of time was like hat bootcamp. But some of my favorite hats have come from that series. And one of those hats is Rosebud Beanie.

All of the hats from the set used the ever popular Cascade 220 worsted. With it’s wide availability and exceptional color selection it was the obvious option.

Rosebud features a folded brim and a sweet lace in sizes newborn through large adult.

Materials and Info

Yarn –Cascade 220 (100g 220yd) Newborn, Baby, Toddler, Child, Small Adult – 1 skein, Large Adult – 2 skeins

Gauge – 20x28sts per 4x4in or 10x10cm

Needles – 7 (4.5mm) circular and/or dpn

Sizes – (newborn, baby), (toddler, child), (small adult, large adult)

Head Measurement – (30-35, 35-40), (40-45, 45-50), (50-55, 55-60)cms or (12-14, 14-16), (16-18, 18-20), (20-22, 22-24)ins

Other –yarn needle, fur pompom (optional)

Rosebud was named such by my 4th child. She thought the lace looked like little roses growing on a vine.
The lace is easy to remember making it perfect to knit in the car or while watching a movie.

NEWBORN
Cast on 64 using your favorite stretchy cast on.
Join in the round.
Work in [ktbl2, p2] ribbing for 3ins.
Round 1 – [k6,p2] around
