Welcome! I’m Amanda, the knitter, creator, and heart behind Knit in the Womb. With over 30 years of knitting experience, I’m thrilled to share my passion for the craft with you here on my blog.

My knitting journey began long before the days of online tutorials and knitting communities. I have literally been knitting longer than youtube has existed. Over the years, I’ve developed over 200 original knitting patterns, each designed with care and creativity. In 2010, I launched a photo prop shop where I sold hand-knitted items for newborn photographers, focusing on creating soft, beautiful pieces that captured the delicate beauty of those early days. I ran the shop for twelve years, and in 2022, I felt called to close that chapter to dedicate my time and energy solely to this blog. Now, through Knit in the Womb, I’m excited to share all my patterns, tips, and tutorials for free.

I’m a mom to eight wonderful children and have been blessed to homeschool them right here in Montana. As a NICU mom to our eighth, a micro preemie, I’ve experienced the deep resilience and joy that family brings, and it’s woven into every part of my life—including my knitting. My husband and I have been married for 19 years, and together, we’re active members of our church, finding strength and community in our faith.

Through this blog, I hope to create a welcoming space for knitters of all backgrounds. Whether you’re a seasoned knitter or just starting, I’m excited to share what I’ve learned and connect with others who share a love for creating. Thank you for joining me here at Knit in the Womb!
