Materials Needed: 60-220yds worsted weight yarn (I used KnitPicks Mighty Stitch Worsted), size 7 (4.5mm) dpn or circular, yarn needle

Gauge: 5sts/in in stockinette st

Round 1 – knit around

Round 2 – [k4, p2]

Michael Beanie Pattern

Cast on 66, 72 (84, 90) 102, 108. Join in the round.

Work 1ins k1p1 ribbing.

Work in Michael Stitch Pattern until your work measures appx 3.5, 4.5 (5.5, 6) 7, 7.5 ins from cast on edge ending after completing a row 2.

DECREASES

Round 1 – [k1, k2tog, k3] repeat [to] around [55, 60 (70, 75) 85, 90 sts]

Round 2 – [k3, p2] around

Round 3 – [k3, k2tog] repeat [to] across [44, 48 (56, 60) 68, 72 sts]

Round 4 – [k3, p1]

Round 5 – [k2, ssk] repeat [to] across [33, 36 (42, 45) 51, 54 sts]

Round 6 – knit around

Round 7 – [k1, k2tog] repeat [to] across [22, 24 (28, 30) 34, 36 sts]

Round 8 – knit around

Round 9 – [k2tog] repeat [to] across [11, 12 (14, 15) 17, 18 sts]

Round 10 – [k2tog] repeat [to] across, if 1 stitch remains, k1 [6, 6 (7, 8) 9, 9 sts]

Do not bind off. Cut yarn leaving appx -10ins. Pull yarn through remaining stitches and cinch the top tight. Weave in ends. Block as desired.
